We don't compete with our accounts
Trade supply only. We do not run a retail storefront alongside the people we supply, and we do not sell to their customers.
About
Schaap Industries exists so a South African retailer can stock imported leisure goods without becoming an importer themselves.
The company
Schaap Industries is a South African company that imports leisure and outdoor goods and distributes them wholesale to local retailers. The work covers the whole path: finding a manufacturer, verifying the product against sample, clearing it into the country, holding it locally, and delivering it to store.
Retailers buy from local stock, in the quantities they can sell, at a wholesale price in rands. The container risk, the exchange-rate exposure and the customs paperwork stay with us.
We are deliberately small, which limits how many lines we can carry at once and is exactly why the ones we do carry get checked properly before they ship.
How we operate
01
Trade supply only. We do not run a retail storefront alongside the people we supply, and we do not sell to their customers.
02
Freight, duties and clearing are inside the wholesale price. No quoting on ex-works and invoicing the difference later.
03
When a shipment slips or a manufacturer changes a spec, you hear it from us immediately — while you can still adjust your ordering.
04
Compliant invoicing and complete import documentation, because the audit comes long after the stock has sold through.
Where we are going
Sending pricing out by email is workable at our current size. It is not how a retailer wants to reorder a line they buy every month.
So the next stage is a trade portal for account holders — live stock, wholesale pricing and direct ordering, sitting alongside the quoted indent work rather than replacing it.
No obligation, and no charge for asking whether a line is worth importing.
